I didn't bring a set list home with me, so I don't get to post it.

However, we did a couple songs that I thought worked pretty well.

The song "Revival" went well. I think its a song with a lot of potential to develop atmosphere as well as use dynamics to convey the power of what the song is saying. This Sunday, I felt the almost commanding tone of the chorus "Lay your burdens down". It reminded me of how often we need more than just an "invitation" to lay them down. We cling to the things that weigh on us.

Musically, this week went really well considering all the of the changes from our normal group. We didn't have Polly or Zeb to sing with us. Josh came to play bass for a week, and Jon played guitar with us for the first time. The only significant challenges were when the flock of birds (Josh) distracted the lead singer during a song introduction in practice... and when we attempted to play the traditional Hebrew-ish song as an 80's rock ballad... Maybe this could grow into a new genre?
The mix sounded pretty crisp. It was nice.

Here's what I'm learning:
I see that God is faithful to us. He sees our point of dispair and meets us at the place where we fall to our knees because there is nothing left in us that can go further. I've seen moments like that molded into to some of the truest worship.
